Microsoft Teams and Zoom are both popular video conferencing platforms for businesses, but they have different features and use cases

  • Zoom

A cloud-based platform that's good for external meetings and remote work. It's easy for people to join from any device with a link, and it has features like screen sharing, recording, and virtual backgrounds. Zoom is also popular for webinars, virtual events, and online classes. It offers free and paid plans, and some say it's free to host up to 100 participants. However, others have raised concerns about Zoom's customer service, security, and technical glitches.

  • Microsoft Teams

A collaboration platform that's included in Microsoft 365 and is good for internal meetings. It offers video conferencing, chat, voice calling, and file sharing, and it integrates with other Microsoft products like Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Teams is popular with large enterprises, and some say it has advanced security measures and an intuitive interface that makes it easy to collaborate in large groups. However, others have noted that Teams has limited online meeting experiences and that you might have to pay extra for call plans.
